KARACHI: While overcoming the issues of ever-growing population growth in the metropolis, the Sindh government has worked out a plan that will have a total of nine districts and there will be two elected mayors for the city, Pakistan Today learnt. It is mentioned here that Karachi comprised of five districts; however, the chief minister had established a new district namely Korangi through a notification in November 2013. Now, under the new strategy, three new districts will be established to cater to the needs of the ever-increasing population in the port city. “The Keamari districts will consist of four subdivisions including Harbour, Mauripur, Baldia and SITE with a total population of 18 lacs and thirty-three thousand. Moreover, sources added that a new bill will also be tabled in the coming session of the Sindh Assembly after which the Karachi city will have two mayors.
