After the track was released, Swift indicated that she was not keen on the disparaging lyrics. Indeed, Kim labelled Taylor a 'snake' which led to Swift being trolled online. In an emotional response to Kanye, Taylor said on Instagram: ''He promised to play the song for me, but he never did.''
