Rapper Kanye West was taken to UCLA Medical Center and hospitalized late Monday evening, according to various reports. NBC News said a “source familiar with the case” told them that the rapper was hospitalized due to a concern for his own safety. People magazine reported that he was hospitalized for exhaustion. A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed that a “disturbance call that became a medical emergency call” was made at 1:20 p.m. and officers dispatched to a location at the 800 block of North Laurel Ave.“I cannot provide any more information because the incident did not become a crime, but a medical emergency only,” said Mike Lopez, of LAPD Media Relations.
