Kanye West was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Monday, according to TMZ. According to the website, the 39-year-old rapper is currently at UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation. Sources told TMZ, police responded to a medical welfare call on West around 1:20 p.m. PT. According to NBC News, the decision to check on the rapper was purely for his own safety and there was no criminal activity involved. Request for comment made to West’s rep by The Huffington Post has yet to be returned at this time.
