Kanu is embroiled in a tussle after allegedly selling a piece of land in Kisumu county for Sh60 million. Judge Stephen Kibunja of the Lands court set the mention date to September 13, 2016. Jacob Omondi, Kennedy Omollo and Samwel Otieno have sued Kanu on grounds that the Kisumu branch was not consulted when the property was sold. The Political party’s tribunal ruled that the applicants did not exhaust the party’s mechanisms to resolve the dispute and the suit was struck out in June 19, 2014. The three have been the trustees of the land prior to its sale and want the property reverted to their care.
