There’s a twisted repercussion in an NCAA tournament full of upsets: When the good teams lose early, they never get to play each other. Which has spawned Loyola-Chicago et al—and also very few games between the teams that spent the entire season showing they were the best in the entire country. Kansas vs. Duke for a spot in the Final Four was the outlier. 1 seed vs. a No. 2 seed, and not just any top-two teams.
