Ted Odogwu, KanoThe Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, on Monday, fixed January 16, 2021, for the conduct of the local government election in the state. The commission’s Chairman, Prof. Garba Sheka, said the political parties were expected to conduct their party primaries between October 19 and November 30, 2020, to produce their candidates. Sheka added that campaign would commence from October 12 January 14, 2021 for the political parties. He said, “We are going to recruit 48,000 ad-hoc staffs, 44 electoral officers and their assistants in the 44 local government areas. “We are expecting the material to be ready a month before the election day.’’Copyright PUNCH.
