The new Black Caps test skipper ensured his 50th cap was an even more memorable experience as he moved smoothly from his overnight 95 at the Queens Sports Club to his 14th test century. The Black Caps resumed on 329 for two with Williamson joined by Ross Taylor, who is closing is on his own batting landmark. Williamson brought up his 21st test fifty from 74 deliveries and effortlessly closed in on his 14th test century as Zimbabwe's inexperienced attack wilted. Latham, who made 105 in the first test, earlier combined with Martin Guptill to construct a 169-run opening stand to continue the Black Caps dominance.
