KUALA SELANGOR: A group of 50 disgruntled residents of Kampung Sungai Yu, here, has demanded that the Selangor government’s list of recipients for residential lots meant for the Indian community be declared null and void. They wanted to know why a majority of the 175 recipients were outsiders and not the original residents of Kampung Sungai Yu, which comes under the Permatang constituency. Kampung Sungai Yu Residents Action Group chairman M. Purusothman alleged that of the 175 recipients, only 61 were from Kampung Sungai Yu, while the rest were outsiders, with some coming from as far as Johor, Penang, Melaka, Perak and Negri Sembilan. “How is it possible that the recipients are not even Kampung Sungai Yu residents? “I have been living in Kampung Sungai Yu for 50 years but, yet, I am not a recipient.
