Phoolka said that the Congress, by appointing Kamal Nath as its point man for Punjab, is showing that it does not care about the sentiments of the victims. Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal said the decision was “the ultimate insult to Sikhs”. Phoolka, an advocate fighting for the victims of the 1984 riots, said the Congress party has tried to rub salt into wounds of the victims. Sikhs would give a befitting reply to Congress in the forthcoming assembly polls, he said.
