Kamal Haasan: Don't want to hurt sentiments, belong to a Hindu family

Highlights 1 Haasan said he was only talking about Hindu extremism and not Hindu terrorism. Facing massive fire from the BJP and the larger Sangh Parivar - and even a couple of court cases - over his "Hindu terror" remark, megastar Kamal Haasan today sought to cool the tempers by saying he doesn't want to hurt Hindu sentiments since he himself comes from a Hindu family. "I am not starting a party to hurt Hindus. I am not trying to hurt Hindu sentiments, but when mistakes are done, I will speak about it," Haasan said in Chennai while addressing press reporters on his 63rd birthday. "I did not use the word terror; the word I used was 'extreme', like some of my fans who love me," he said.
