By COLLINS OMULOMore by this AuthorWiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has warned the Jubilee government against plans to dispossess Mwea scheme residents of their land. “As the party leader of Wiper, I will not stand by and watch as innocent Kenyans are harassed, displaced and deprived of their livelihoods. Before I go there, I am telling Jubilee that if they evict people as far as we are concerned, it is going to amount to ethnic cleansing,” said Mr Musyoka. Mr Musyoka further alleged that County Commissioner Esther Maina had deployed officers to start evicting residents despite several cases on land ownership in Mwea still pending in the courts and before the Senate. Mwea scheme hosts more than 12,000 households and has a population of over 30,000 people.
