Kalikho hadn't yet vacated Chief Minister's residence, and is said to have "asked for time to move out of the home". The Supreme Court in July ousted Kalikho from the chief minister's office and elected Congress leader Pema Khandu in his place. Kalikho was the eighth chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, in office from February to July 2016, and took over after President's Rule in the state. Born on July 20, 1969, he was originally from Hawai in Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw district. Kalikho had been Arunachal Pradesh's finance minister from 2003 to 2007.
