The Kakamega Small Claims Court on Monday ordered Mumias East MP Peter Salasya to pay a businessman a Ksh500,000 debt. According to the businessman, Salasya was supposed to pay the amount in February. During the court case, the businessman produced documents showing that he had advanced the money to Salasya via a local commercial bank. This comes a week after Salasya and Kakamega Governor Fernandes and Salasya were involved in a public spat during a political function in Kakamega. Responding to the matter, Barasa retorted by stating that Mumias East had erred in electing a naive boy to an important position.
