Kajol’s Devi accused of plagiarising student film


Vowing to take action against the makers and the platform, Rai reminded everyone that his film is an intellectual property of Asian Academy of Film & TelevisionKajol moved 8.3 million YouTube viewers earlier this week with a 13minute short film Devi about rape victims. However, the awe was short lived, as an Indian director, Abhishek Rai, claimed the film copied his 2018 student film Four. In a Facebook post, Rai claimed: “We at AndaKurry Productions, made a short film when we were in film school, 2 years back called 'FOUR' that dealt with a premise of rape victims sitting together in a room when a new victim arrives. Devi is Written and directed by Priyanka Banerjee. It stars Neha Dhupia, Neena Kulkarni, Shruti Haasan, Mukta Barve, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Sandhya Mhatre, Rama Joshi and Rashaswini Dayam, alongside Kajol.
