The former ODM national vice chairman, who defected to Jubilee in 2013, has declared his interest in the Mombasa senator seat. Cord leader Raila Odinga dismissed the appointment, saying Jubilee is trying to “hoodwink” Kenyans, and specifically Coast residents, into supporting it. Kajembe jumped ship, saying Mombasa Governor and ODM deputy party leader Hassan Joho “orchestrated” his defeat by Senator Hassan Omar in 2013.
