Shadalafiya, representing Kagarko constituency, is the former House Committee chairman on Information. The former Deputy Speaker, last Friday, resigned and defected from the Nigeria ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition party People’s Democratic Party. During the house plenary on Wednesday, the Speaker Aminu Shagali also declared the seat of the former deputy speaker, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed representing Zaria nominated the new Deputy Speaker, Nuhu Shadalafiya for the position. The motion was accepted by the lawmakers and Shadalafiya was immediately declared as the new Deputy Speaker.
