Three poachers were yesterday morning gunned down by Kenya Wildlife Service officers at Mt Elgon National Park in Trans Nzoia. KWS spokesperson Paul Gathitu said officers on routine patrol encountered five poachers in the park. “There was an exchange of fire between the KWS team and the poachers. The two poachers who were armed managed to escape with injuries,” he said in a statement. The KWS team recovered various items used by poachers.
