KU suspends exams after dons strike

By OUMA WANZALAMore by this AuthorKenyatta University has rescheduled end of semester examinations that were set to start on Monday due to the ongoing strike by lecturers. Acting Vice-Chancellor Paul Wainaina said the university is in talks with the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders over the issue. "The university management calls upon all students to remain calm as the issue is addressed," said Prof Wainaina in a memo to students and staff. The lecturers’ strike which started on November 1 has paralysed learning in Kenyan public universities. Meanwhile, Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has criticised the lecturers’ leadership for crisscrossing the country “to incite others so that they do not teach”.
