KRA officials at Malaba border on Monday impounded two Mombasa-bound trucks ferrying bhang worth Sh3.74 million. The bhang seized in two separate incidents were packed in sacks weighing 254kg and 120 kg respectively. The truck, ferrying goods on transit to India via Kilindini Port, had arrived at the Malaba Customs yard on May 1 for clearance. On May 3, 2017, six sacks of bhang weighing 120kgs were found stacked under the driver’s cabin in a truck ferrying teak logs. "Those who packed the bags told me it was grass," he said to the police after the second truck’s driver escaped.
