Share:PESHAWAR - Employees of the attached departments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continued their pen-down strike on 6th consecutive day on Monday as they demand same pay raise, given to the officials of the Civil Secretariat. As a result of the ongoing protest, activities have come to a halt at the Directorate of Education, KP Information Department, the Prosecution Directorate, Fisheries Directorate and others. Talking to The Nation, Attached Departments Officers Association spokesman Attaullah Khan said that the attached departments’ employees neither got 37 percent pay raise announced in the budget for 2021-22, nor were they being given the 150 percent raise on basic pay that has been given to employees of the Civil Secretariat. “There are around 3000 employees in these attached departments. When all including mines and minerals, doctors, engineers, secretariat, PMS and CSS officers were given this pay raise, why the government is not giving the same to the officers of attached departments,” he questioned.
