The Canary Islanders secured one of the headline results of the opening weekend when they won 4-2 away at Champions League-chasing Valencia and followed that up with an eye-catching 5-1 demolition of Granada on Sunday. Indeed, while Las Palmas have conceded more than the Spanish heavyweights—three compared to Barca’s two and Real’s one—they are the league’s top scorers, having registered nine goals in their first two fixtures, more than Barca (seven) and Real (five). Prince, a free transfer from AC Milan this season, has been one of the best performers of the season so far and found the net again this weekend when he scored Las Palmas’ second, giving them the lead after Jeremie Boga’s equaliser had cancelled out Nabil El Zhar’s opener. Early days, perhaps, but it certainly looks as though Prince may well be returning to his best.
