KP Assembly adopts resolutions condemning Naqeebullah killing, minor girls’ rapes

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly on Friday adopted resolutions to condemn the extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud in Karachi and the rape incidents of minor girls in Nowshera and Mardan. The five resolutions adopted by the assembly also included resolutions to enhance female quota in the agriculture sector, ensure women access towards modern education and notifying the maternal mortality rate in the province. The house took up one out of the five starred questions for answers, and the lawmakers asked three questions as well. A JUI-F lawmaker protested during the proceedings for five minutes against the provincial government for denying his constituency its share in the gas royalty. A PML-N lawmaker protested for two minutes for not considering her question, and a PTI lawmaker pointed the quorum at 1638 hours which led to the adjournment of the sitting after counting.
