The Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General Sossion has called for a teachers strike that will begin on the 2nd January next year. This is the first the union has called for industrial action in the last two years. The union leaders say their withdrawal of labour from all public primary schools is not triggered by a dispute over salaries but working conditions such as delocalization of teachers and promotions.
