KUALA LUMPUR (March 2): The FBM KLCI rose 0.51% in early trade today and crossed the 1,700-point level in early trade, in line with the gains at most regional markets. At 9.05am, the index rose 8.80 points to 1,706.46, lifted including by index-linked banking stocks. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.2 percent, led by rebound in Australian shares, it said. “On the local market, the FBM KLCI gained 3.92 points to 1697.69 points. “Following the positive performance in the US and Europe, the FBM KLCI could follow suit and climb towards the resistance of 1730 points,” it said.
