Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) has appointed John Mativo as its new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Abdi Bare Duale, KETRACO’s Chairman of the Board of Directors. The position he takes up has been vacant since 1 February 2022 when “the then Managing Director & CEO FCPA Gov Fernandes Barasa resigned to pursue politics.”Antony Wamukota then steered the company’s operations as managing director and CEO in acting capacity from February 2022 to January 2023 when Isaac Kiva, took over the mantle from 27 January 2023. Isaac Kiva, the Secretary Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum was seconded to KETRACO to oversee the recruitment process of the Managing Director and CEO.
