Hassan Extension police has suo motu registered a case against KAS officer E. Vijaya for attempting to commit suicide under the Section 309 of the Indian Penal Code, on Friday. He pointed out for the last few months, many progressive organisations and farmers had staged protests against the KAS officer. The officer had sought opinions of lawyers and a police officer to file a defamation case against Mr. Gowda.
