Kāpiti rail line closed for police pursuitSTUFF The rail lines near Paekakariki. A police chase ended up on foot along Kāpiti Coast railway tracks, stopping trains in the process. A Subaru car was stolen from Palmerston North before being spotted in the Paekākāriki area about 9am on Monday, police said. The three occupants dumped the car and ran along the railway lines and escarpment track north of Paekākāriki with police in pursuit on foot. "Next time I enjoy the views of the Kāpiti Escarpment track hopefully I get to use the walking track."
