Overall, Timberlake’s catalogue sales, as compared to the day before the Super Bowl, rose by 158% on Super Bowl Sunday. He also helped moved units for Prince, with some 1,200 downloads for “I Would Die 4 U” occurring after the Super Bowl. Music sales and streams tend to spike after a big awards show or live TV performance. Timberlake, who goes on tour starting in March, clearly released his latest album to coincide with the Super Bowl download frenzy.
