New Zealand struggle in medal pursuit at world rowing champs IAN ANDERSONPHOTOSPORT Kerri Gowler and Grace Prendergast took silver in the women's pair final at the world rowing champs. (File photo)The New Zealand team will record their worst world rowing championships performance this decade in Bulgaria. With three more finals for NZ boats on Sunday night, their medal haul will be well short of what the team has produced in recent years. NZ teams won nine medals at the 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015 world champs, seven in the US last year and five in 2013. Murray won bronze at last year's world champs with Jamie Hunter as his crewmate.
