SASKATOON — A jury has found a Saskatoon man guilty of first-degree murder of a woman who took him and his girlfriend in when they had no place else to go. A first-degree murder conviction results in an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years. “This man decided that my mom was a bad person based on the mere 10 months he knew her,” Shanda said. Shanda said Crampton worked three jobs to support the family, pay the mortgage and ensure her daughters could play sports. In the hours before she died, Shanda helped Crampton update her resume in hopes of getting full-time work at a drug store.
