Junior shuttlers warned against complacency at World Junior Championships

KUALA LUMPUR: National juniors head coach Kwan Yoke Meng has asked his players to remain focused on the mission ahead after notching an easy 5-0 win against Armenia at the World Junior Championships in Yogyakarta today. The team will need to beat New Zealand in their second group C1 match tomorrow to progress to the round of 16. We still played our strongest lineup as we want the players to adjust to the playing conditions here,” said Yoke Meng. “All the players showed a high level of performance today and I want them to do the same and remain focused against New Zealand. Boys' singles player Leong Jun Hao, girls' singles player Goh Jin Wei, mixed doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tan Sueh Jeou, boys' doubles pair Chang Yee Jun-Ng Eng Cheong and girls' doubles pair Pearly Tan-Toh Ee Wei all secured straight game victories over their Armenian counterparts.
