Josh Junior kept his nerve and his boat upright to win a dramatic medal race at the Finn European Championships in Spain on Saturday (Sunday NZT) but it wasn't quite enough to claim bronze. The remainder of the 91-boat fleet were due to sail their race after the top-10 medal race but this was called off as the conditions worsened meaning Andy Maloney finished 11th overall and Brendan McCarty 39th. "But it's pretty cool to win the race and finish fourth. Junior and Maloney will compete alongside a number of other New Zealand sailors at the Princess Sofia regatta in Palma in a fortnight.
