Judges boycott courts; conduct proceedings of important cases in chambersJudges of lower courts across Punjab staged a protest on Friday against the abusive behaviour displayed by lawyers, Express News reported. The judges boycotted the courts and conducted proceedings of only the important cases in their chambers. Seeking action against the lawyers, the judges said that there had been an increase in the abusive behaviour of lawyers towards judges which included threats and torture. Judge seeks action against abusive lawyersAccording to Express News, advocate Imran Manj attacked the civil judge, Khalid Mehmood Waraich, with a chair over a minor dispute and escaped the scene unchallenged. In another incident, lawyers in the district court allegedly misbehaved with a judge and then locked the courtroom announcing a boycott of her court.
