Through his lawyer Macharia Kahonge, he yesterday said he wrote to the DCI, requesting the certificate, but officers refused to issue the document. Appeal judge GBM Kariuki has threatened to sue the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for failing to issue him a certificate of good conduct, thwarting his run for the Chief Justice job. Kariuki said the DCI was malicious. “It is as clear as daylight the director acted maliciously with the aim of sabotaging our client’s application for CJ, a fact that had been disclosed when applying for the certificate,” read the letter in part.
