Judge refuses to hear betting firm's taxes case over font in suit papers


A judge has declined to hear at least two urgent matters saying the fonts used to type suit papers are small. Justice Roselyne Aburili declined to hear cases filed by betting firm Bradley Trading and Karaini investment. Bradley Trading, in which SportPesa has major shareholding, has challenged the decision to increase taxes levied on betting companies. He proposed the taxes be raised from 7.5 per cent (betting), 12 per cent (lottery), 15 per cent (gaming) and 15 per cent (competition), to the 50 per cent.
