Judge questions victim for being too intoxicated to know what was going onA family court judge in New Jersey is being questioned by the state’s appeal court for showing leniency towards a teenager accused of rape. According to Business Insider, the boy allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl at a party and filmed the entire encounter. He then forwarded the video to his friends and messaged them saying “when your first time having sex was rape.”The Monmouth County prosecutor’s office recommended in 2017 that the boy be charged as an adult, the Judge of Superior Court denied the prosecutors motion stating, “he is clearly a candidate for not just college but probably for a good college. The states appellate court disagreed with the decision made by the judge, thereby reversing his ruling and stating that the boy will be tried as an adult, with the case moving from family court to a grand jury.
