Police detained Tuhin, chief of the Jubo League’s Adabor unit, on Saturday night after the clashes in the morning. Awami League chief Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had also ordered action against those responsible for the incident. Mohammadpur Police Station officials produced him before court on Sunday and sought a five-day remand to grill him in custody while Tuhin sought bail. The clashes reportedly erupted between supporters of Nanak and Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League General Secretary Sadeq Khan. Both are vying for the Awami League’s ticket for the upcoming election.
