The opposition leaders claimed the government wants to interfere with the ongoing issuance of IDs and the voter registration drive. ODM officials led by coordinator Kipkorir Menjo said the chiefs were being asked to speed up processing of new IDs in Jubilee strongholds. They are giving figures, indicating they are tampering with the voter registration to favour Jubilee," he said. Menjo said they havr information some speakers at the DP's meeting told the chiefs about the plan to interfere with issuance of IDs. The DP has campaigned for the voter registration in Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Trans Nzoia, Bungoma and Nandi counties.
