A church roof fundraiser, which allowed attendees to find out about the fast-paced world of the media from a pair of broadcasting heavyweights, raised more than £1,000. The Friends of Wortham Church hosted Martha Kearney, of BBC’s World at One and Woman’s Hour, and Chris Shaw, of Channel 4 News and ITN, as part of its St Mary’s Roof Appeal, which is hoping to raise £150,000. Chris Shaw and Martha Kearney interviewed each other as part of the fundraiser. Mrs Kearney added: “St Mary’s is dear to me and Chris and all our neighbours.
