Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong Chi-fung has been placed in solitary confinement after suspicions were raised when an X-ray reportedly revealed a “foreign object” in his stomach. During solitary confinement, Wong said he was not allowed time to exercise out in the open area, and had to stay in his room at all times apart from during visiting hours. He added that the lights in his room were kept on at all times, making it difficult to sleep. The post also wrote that the Correctional Services said the check is expected to be completed in three to five days, Wong will be kept in solitary confinement until then. Wong was remanded in custody after admitting to inciting and organizing an unauthorized assembly outside the police headquarters on June 21 last year.
