Just as the singer known as Murphy ended his run on American Idol, a new opportunity presented itself from none other than Josh Gad. Murphy was eliminated outside of the Top 24 on Sunday night's episode of American Idol, as part of the Showstopper round. Gad, 40, was impressed enough by the singe on Monday to offer him a job writing a song for Apple TV Plus' Central Park, which he stars in and co-created. Though my journey is over on #AmericanIdol, I'l still be singing,' Murphy began. Gad co-created Central Park with Bob's Burgers creator Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith.
