Hip hop recently became the most listened to genre in the U.S., even surpassing rock. And studies have shown that in real numbers, most hip hop listeners are white. There is no way most fans of Kendrick Lamar are self-censoring themselves when they’re singing along at a concert. And likely fewer do at home.
