Roma have reportedly vetoed Nemanja Matic’s reunion with former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho this summer. Matic is one of Mourinho’s former players who has been linked with a move to Roma, but the Italian club’s hierarchy are not keen on the midfielder. Matic played under Mourinho at both Chelsea and United and his connection to the Portuguese meant he has cropped up in transfer reports since the former Spurs manager’s move to Roma was confirmed. Gazzetta dello Sport reported the ‘special relationship’ between them meant Matic would ‘gladly follow’ his former manager to the Italian capital.
