Jose Fonte who rejected Jose Mourinho’s advances after holding a crisis talk with his team Southampton’s bigwigs has re-signed a new deal with his club. Manchester United boss Mourinho had targeted Euro champ Fonte, 32, to shore up his defence and was lining up an £12million move for the centre-half. Jose Fonte who was in action for Southampton during their match last weekend against Manchester united was to be added onto the list of mourinho’s summer signings with the likes of Paul Pogba. Southampton have also offered Fonte a bumper £70,000-a-week contract to boost his current deal, which still has two years to run.
