José Mourinho: Blame England for Harry Kane’s injury

José Mourinho has said that if Harry Kane’s injury problems are down to him playing too much football then England are to blame, not Tottenham Hotspur. The England captain has suffered a serious injury in each of the past four seasons and surgery on a ruptured hamstring tendon has ruled him out until April. Mourinho, the Spurs head coach, suggested that Kane could have been left out of some international matches to have given the striker a rest. Kane played in all six of England’s Euro 2020 qualifiers in the autumn and completed 90 minutes in four of them. Five of the qualifiers were one-sided affairs in which England dominated, including a 6-0 win against Bulgaria and a 7-0 thrashing of Montenegro.
