Jordan shop yields meth haul worth HK$150m

They estimated the drugs found in an empty shop in Jordan was worth more than HK$150 million. Seven people, including two men from the mainland, were arrested in the operation on Tuesday on suspicion of drug trafficking and other offenses. Police first arrested five people as they moved a bag from the shop near the intersection of Shanghai Street and Bowring Street to a seven-seater car. Detective superintendent Alan Chung said they believed the drug originated from the mainland and was intended for the local market. Chung said that the shop was only rented out in the last couple of days., and that this case was unusual in that the suspects used a shop on the ground floor instead of renting an empty apartment.
