Pickford punched off-duty bouncer Andy Dewar by mistake as he became involved in a scuffle after his partner was, apparently, the subject of verbal abuse. Everton took no action against their keeper and Pickford believes it was part of his learning curve. “I just want to be a normal lad but you have got to realise certain situations you are in. You couldn’t have a better moment and I kept a clean sheet. “And I just feel I can get better and better.”
