Tessa JoppSouthern midfielder Tessa Jopp is back in the national team following a brief absence. She made her playing return during the National Hockey League in September and is the only player from the region to be named in the Black Sticks women’s squad for the 2019 season. But Shea McAleese (272) and Arun Panchia (253) are leading the way as the most capped players in the national squad. The 2019 season includes the inaugural FIH Pro League competition, where both Black Sticks teams will come up against the best sides in the world. The announcement of the national squad also brings in a new Memorandum of Understanding with the Hockey Players Association.
