KUALA LUMPUR: Officials from Johor Health Department are currently monitoring eight people who came in close contact with a Chinese national found with novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in Singapore. Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement said the ministry was informed by the Singapore health authorities that the 66 year-old from Wuhan was staying in Johor when he came in contact with the eight. “Clinical samples had also been taken from the eight to detect the presence of 2019-nCoV,” the statement read. Noor Hisham added the Johor Health Department would continue to monitor the health status of the eight for a maximum of 14 days, or until they depart to their home country, whichever comes first. The 66-year-old is Singapore’s first case of the Wuhan virus.
